THE SENIOR OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP 2010 – CARNOUSTIE
Since the inaugural tournament in 1987 The Senior Open Championship has become firmly established on The Seniors world golfing calendar with its popular blend of fierce competition, relaxed atmosphere and camaraderie.
The 2010 Senior Open Championship comes to the magnificent layout at Carnoustie where Loren Roberts will defend the title he won at Sunningdale last year. The Championship is sanctioned by The R&A, European Senior Tour and The Champions Tour and is recognised as one of golf’s five Seniors Majors.
FORMAT
The field will consist of a total of 144 players, including exempt and qualified professionals and qualified amateurs.

There are grandstands on the 1st tee, 13th, 16th and 18th Holes. All seats are free. Big screen, full public catering, exhibition, merchandise and free interactive activities available in the tented village.
Facilities for the disabled include a disabled toilet in the tented village and reserved car parking. Tented Structures will have ramp access as well as steps.
Carnoustie is situated 13 miles from Dundee and 58 miles south of Aberdeen.
The tournament will be played over 72 holes, with 18 holes being played on each day. On all four days play will start from the 1st tee. After the first two rounds on Thursday and Friday the leading 70 players plus ties will go forward to the third and fourth rounds.
