The Senior Open Championship

Since the inaugural tournament in 1987 The Senior Open Championship has become firmly established on The Seniors world golfing calendar with its popular blend of fierce competition, relaxed atmosphere and camaraderie.

The 2008 Senior Open Championship comes to the magnificent links at Royal Troon where Tom Watson will defend the title he won at Muirfield last year. The Championship is sanctioned by The R&A, European Seniors Tour and The Champions Tour and is recognised as one of golf’s five Seniors Majors.

Play is from approx:

Thursday – Friday: 07:00 – 20:00

Saturday: 09:40 – 18:55

Sunday: 09:00 – 18:15

There are grandstands on the 7^th, 17^th and 18th Holes - all seats are free. Big screen, full public catering, exhibition, merchandise and free interactive activities available in the tented village situated between the Ladies Clubhouse and the Marine Hotel.

Facilities for the disabled include a disabled toilet in the tented village and reserved car parking. Tented Structures will have ramp access as well as steps.

Royal Troon is situated 8 miles north of Ayr and the nearest rail station is Troon Station.

Juniors

Juniors (who are under 16 years of age on Tuesday 22^nd July 2008) who apply for tickets in advance, or those who turn up at the gate accompanied by a paying adult, will be admitted free.
