2010 Ryder Cup Wales Seniors Open

Golf fans will have another chance to see world class international golf in June when the Ryder Cup Wales Seniors Openreturns to the links at Royal Porthcawl. 2009 saw an all star Ryder Cup line up with Ian Woosnam, Sam Torrance and Costantino Rocca. Bertus Smit held off the challenge of home favourite Woosie to become the first Qualifying School graduate to win on the European Senior Tour in four years. Wales’ very own winning captain of the 2006 Ryder Cup, Woosie was just (3) shots behind for the second consecutive year after finishing runner up to Peter Mitchell at Conwy (Caernarvonshire) Golf Club in 2008.
Format
The field will consist of a total of 81 players, including exempt and qualified professionals and qualified amateurs.

Thursday 17th June Championship Pro-Am
Friday 18th June – Sunday 20th June Tournament Days
Play on all three days will start from the 1st tee

Public Facilities
Entry to the tournament will be free of charge. There will be a charge of £3.00 per car. Public car parking will be clearly signposted.
Facilities for the disabled include a disabled toilet in the tented village and reserved car parking.
Full public catering and exhibitions will be available in the tented village
Directions to the Course
Take the A4229 south to Porthcawl. At the first roundabout go straight across and at the second roundabout by the Esso filling station, take a right. At the 3rd roundabout on the outskirts of Porthcawl, turn right. After a little more than a mile along a residential road, with the coastline in front of you, the road takes a 90 degree left turn. After about a quarter of a mile take a right. This narrow road takes you past the Lifeguard station and straight ahead of you is the Royal Porthcawl Golf Club.
